Jackson Spalding is currently seeking an experienced web developer to join our digital team. Developers at JS love logic, problem solving and are creative technologist at heart. They are responsible for building, testing, debugging/troubleshooting, writing clean/compliant code in addition to collaborating with a diverse team in a fast-paced creative environment.

The company has three offices (Atlanta, Dallas, TX and Athens, GA), close to 150 team members and a client roster that includes The Coca-Cola Company, Delta Air Lines, Chick-fil-A, Mattress Firm, Orkin, Toyota, Interstate Batteries, and many others. Expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 / SASS, JavaScript.
Experience with standard data formats such as JSON, XML, and YAML.
Understanding of MVC design patterns.
Proficient with PHP.
Experience with WordPress, Drupal and other content management systems.
Comfortable managing and modifying databases (SQL, MySQL, NoSQL).
Proven knowledge developing & deploying websites built on a LAMP stack.
Proven debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with Python, Java, Ruby, C#, or Swift is a plus.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and strong time management and problem solving capabilities.

Firm grasp of fundamental design principles and UX best practices.
Familiar working with Sketch files.
Comfortable navigating Adobe tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
Knowledge of markup templating languages, such as HAML.
Some experience with code-driven web animations.


Developing web apps with JavaScript. Proven knowledge of vanilla JS in addition to JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Backbone etc.).
Develop PHP apps to manage back-end services, develop reusable components, and integrate plugins for popular frameworks.
Experience translating design comps and wireframes into semantically correct web templates.
Advanced knowledge of responsive and adaptive design principles, and translating them into fluid and responsive templates.
Proven knowledge developing cross-platform/browser compatibility (IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.) for dynamic web applications.
Familiarity with and adherence to web standards and best practices for load-time reduction and accessibility.
Knowledge of SEO best practices.
Experience with source/version control software is required, specifically Git.
Comfortable using terminal commands and navigating a command-line interface.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of people.
Comfortable with occasionally speaking with clients and presenting work.
Able to estimate time/effort for technical work and participate in project scoping/budget discussions.
