RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage own workload, organizing and prioritizing tasks effectively and meeting deadlines consistently. 

  • Effectively execute timely media monitoring and reporting daily. 

  • Pitch news to media 

  • Help manage media relations and logistics for b2b and b2c clients. 

  • Build and maintain media lists and database. 

  • Mine for story opportunities in a timely way. 

  • Conduct research on clients, trends, competitors and compile in a clear, concise manner. 

  • Develop new content for internal and external publication. 

  • Assist in development of PR campaign project plans and written materials including press releases, media statements and talking points    

  • Write and edit content and press releases with accuracy and speed

EDUCATION 

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field of work. B.A. in Communications or related field   

REQUIRED SKILLS   

  • 1-2 years of agency public relations experience or internship preferred 

  • Experience in project management and execution of PR campaigns, including development of project briefs or utilization of project management tools. 

  • Working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint  

  • Excellent attention to detail, strong proofreading skills and ability to multitask and execute through to completion. 

  • Self-motivated and self-directed working style. 

  • Demonstrated success in securing media coverage (local, trade and/or national) and passion for media relations.  

  • Relevant knowledge of local media, national news, and industry trends.  

  • Experience with and understanding of PR and marketing concepts and practices.  

  • Willingness to follow industry trends and an interest in learning/engaging with developing trends and methods.  

  • Outstanding communication and writing skills and knowledge of AP style. 

  • Working knowledge of social media  

  • Consistently meets deadlines. 

  • Can build client-facing and internal presentations with little oversight/editing. 

  • Can effectively present small portions of presentations to clients and proactively develops their personal style and presence. 

  • Candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating calm under pressure.

  • Pay Range: $41,600 - 48,500 (Commensurate with experience)
